Sergey Mironov expressed condolences because of the loss of Egon Bahr 24 августа 2015 THE CHAIRMAN, Dear Mr. Sigmar Gabriel! On behalf of the Political party A JUST RUSSIA and from me personally I express our deepest condolences because of the loss of Egon Bahr. In Russia Egon Bahr is well known as one of the architects of the new Eastern policy of Germany and as a tireless fighter against the Cold War. He strove to ease an international tension and improve relations between West Germany and the USSR. Egon Bahr directly contributed to signing of the Treaty of Moscow between the two countries in 1970. This treaty played a major role in bringing together the positions of Moscow and Bonn and improved the international situation in Europe as a whole.
