Sergei Mironov extended his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the terrorist attacks in Brussels. 22 марта 2016 First of all, I want to express the sincerest sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the terrorist attacks in Brussels. This is a terrible tragedy. As we can see, "the terrorist international" is still alive, and fighting against it must be task number one for each country, for the whole mankind because it is the most terrible threat on our planet. It is a real threat to life of actually each person as no one can feel safe at present. Moreover, this is a threat to the human civilization. That’s why all of us must stand together, as a united front, in the fight against this terrible threat. But what can we see now? Instead of fighting against terrorism, as it was clearly demonstrated by Russia in Syria, we can see the sanctions against Russia, attempts to accuse our country of a thing or two, and attempts to put pressure on Russia. It is a very sort-sighted and narrow-minded policy. To our regret, as we can see, the Europeans have become victims of such double standards and short-sightedness. The information we received from Brussels today can’t but alarm us. Can we imagine such a situation in modern Russia that two explosions would take place in an airport and three so-called "Shaheed belts" would be found? We can see that the security system at the Brussels airport is much to be desired as it is not a problem to bring in some explosives there. There is actually no control at all. That’s why, when expressing our sympathy and condolences, we would also like to call on all the EU politicians, moreover, the politicians not only in the European Union but worldwide to stop putting up barricades against "the Empire of Evil" or how else they label our country. It is time we got united against the threat which is common to the whole planet – the threat of international terrorism. They won’t stop on their own. It is only our joint fight and a complete eradication of all terrorist cells and their bases, destruction of their financial base, either it is arms supply or something else that will stop them. I think it is necessary that first of all, the European Union leaders draw the conclusions from the events in Brussels. Once again, I’d like to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the terrorist acts in Brussels.
