Sergei Mironov considers the issue of the DPR passports to be a sign of maturity of the young Republic 11 марта 2016 Sergei Mironov, Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA and the Leader of its State Duma faction made comments on the statement made by Alexander Zakharchenko, the Leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic about readiness of a number of the DPR pilot passports. As I have often said, it is extremely important for citizens of any State that they feel their involvement in the processes going on there, and realize they are citizens of their State. That is why I received with a special joy the news that a number of the DPR pilot passports had already been printed and the issue would start this spring. It is crucial for such a young State as the DPR because the issue of passports will make it possible to declare worldwide that the Republic is not just a former part of the Donetsk region territory of Ukraine but it is a full subject of international relations. The young State is getting more and more mature, and the processes going on there prove the fact of development of its statehood and growth of its sovereignty. I’d like to express my hope that the DPR authorities will continue passportization at the same rate and issue a passport to each citizen of the Republic. For its part, Party A JUST RUSSIA is the only one among the Russian parties which has acknowledged independence of the young republics of Donbas, and it will do its best for acknowledgement of the new DPR passports in the RF.
