Sergei Mironov: President’s Address is a good ‘homework assignment’ for the Government and the Federal Assembly 03 äåêàáðÿ 2015 Sergei Mironov, Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA and the Leader of its State Duma faction commented on the RF President’s annual Address to the Federal Assembly. "The words about the necessity to form a united front to combat terrorism because otherwise, we won’t succeed if we are separated had been awaited and absolutely right," Mr. Mironov said. According to the politician, Vladimir Putin’s phrase regarding relations with Turkey ‘we know what to do’ means that some new steps will be made in this direction in the nearest future. The parliamentarian noted that it is for the first time that the President paid so much attention to agriculture in his Address and set the objective to fully provide the citizens of Russia with domestically produced food by 2020. Sergei Mironov also expressed his approval in connection with Vladimir Putin’s words about the necessity to withdraw misused agricultural land from the owners who use it for any purpose other than the specified. The politician emphasized that such a necessity was written down in the program of Party A JUST RUSSIA long ago. Sergei Mironov also stressed the social aspects of the Presidential Address, in particular, the decision to extend the maternity capital program and attention paid to development of medicine. "The fact that special attention will be paid to the Northern Sea Route development, and the preferential regime of the free port will be extended to all the harbors along this route is the right thing to do and the correct solution the polar explorers (who I often communicated with) insisted on," the deputy said. Sergei Mironov emphasized the fact that the Address also touched upon the issues of demography, schools and preschool education. "In general, I think the Address is a good ‘home task assignment’ for both the Government which was given direct assignments, and, in particular, for Mr. Medvedev. Exactly the same tasks but from the point of provision of the President’s various decisions and initiatives were set for the Federal Assembly," the deputy summarized.
