Nikolai Levichev: prolongation of the EU anti-Russian sanctions means the West justifies the criminal politics of Kiev authorities 21 декабря 2015 Nikolai Levichev, Vice-Chairman of the State Duma made comments on the prolongation of the EU sanctions against Russia: The prolongation of the EU sanctions against our country means that the West justifies the criminal policy of Kiev authorities who openly sabotage the implementation of the Minsk agreements and get more and more convinced about their own impunity. Russia has never been a part to the conflict: we offered our mediation in the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis provoked by the geopolitical ambitions and politics of the USA and the EU. The European Union also had to be a mediator to save the Kiev clique and its own investment in the reformatting of Ukraine. Can it be that they in Washington and Brussels fail to understand the simple truth: the sanctions of one mediator and guarantor against the other put an end to the very idea of the format like that. If artillery salvos again illuminate the skies over the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics on New Year holidays, the fault for this will totally rest with the western patrons of Ukraine. The European Union, with its voting on a common impulse, on all the questions relating to Russia resembles of the Soviet Union during the last years of its existence. Sooner or later, the EU will end right in the same way as the USSR. Moreover, in this case the dissolution of Europe is likely to become a problem for the USA first of all. For the time being, Washington has been dealing with an impersonal mass of pseudo politicians who screened themselves behind a blue banner with yellow stars instead of the real political subjects. But soon such an unintelligent policy will make Europe search for the new ways of interstate communication and that will become its political "renaissance". Russia has always tried to maintain relations with European countries. We solved our common problems by dialog even in the most difficult periods of time. In case there is no EU, we will make arrangements with Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy and France released from the obligations to sing in the common chorus.
