Sergei Mironov: Novorossiya is in the forefront of the fight against neo-Nazism 28 декабря 2015 Sergei Mironov, Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA and the Leader of the AJR State Duma faction held a press-conference for journalists in Donetsk. He reminded of several model legislative drafts handed over to the deputies of the DPR National Council last year. "Today we got to know that three of them had been accepted. We are pleased to hear that," the parliamentarian said. "I am sure that the DPR will certainly establish itself as an independent and sovereign state, and it is possible to think about unification of the two republics – the DPR and the LPR at some stage. I’d like to express a wish that this work would not be interrupted for military actions", Sergei Mironov said. He also added that the Donetsk and the Lugansk People’s Republics have chances of being acknowledged by Russia. "I believe the stronger and more successive the statehood in the DPR and the LPR is built, the better the prospects for cooperation and acknowledgement are. I have no doubts that the DPR is on this way at present, and we will provide full support to this forward movement," the politician stressed. He also reminded that Party A JUST RUSSIA had officially acknowledged the independent status of the DPR and the LPR. Sergei Mironov also emphasized that Donetsk had changed for the better since his last visit there. "The city is much more beautiful than before, it is clean and well cared". "I noticed a large number of cars here; a lot of buildings have been repaired. Just a year ago you had a feeling that firing might start at any moment. The key laws have been passed but the process cannot be quick but still formation of statehood is going on," the leader explained. "We had a talk with the deputies of the National Council. We will be waiting for our colleagues from the Donetsk People’s Republic at the State Duma in Moscow so that to help them to build up the legal framework for the new republic, the new entity under international law," Sergei Mironov stressed. The deputy emphasized that the AJR faction is ready to provide comprehensive assistance with development of the legislation and arrangement of activities of the relevant committees of the DPR parliament. "I invited the colleagues to Rostov and Moscow so that the representatives of the National Council committees might get an opportunity for establishing direct contacts with the corresponding committees of the State Duma," the politician said. According to his words, the format of the meetings and their content would depend on the wishes of the deputies of the Republic. Work is planned to start after the New Year holidays, i.e. in the second half of January. The plans include analysis of law making of the DPR and consultations on the writing of laws in certain spheres of the country’s activity. "Significance and courage of the citizens of Novorossiya are absolutely evident because now Novorossiya is in the forefront of the fight against neo-Nazism," he said. The politician stressed that "the interests of the whole Russian world are being defended here." As for Ukraine, according to him, the country "is devoid of the remnants of its statehood." Sergei Mironov also paid attention to the activities of organization "A Just Protection" which recently submitted a report about the tortures of the peaceful population in Donbas on the part of the Ukrainian authorities and nationalists. According to Sergei Mironov, that report has already been directed to the UN, the European Parliament and presented to the Socintern members. In response to a journalist’s request to comment on his proposal to create a forum for discussion between the politicians of the DPR and the Russian Federation, Sergei Mironov said that the strategy of state construction is very important for the republic and it might be discussed at such an expert forum. "I believe it might also be the RF Public Chamber or some expert forum where experts and politicians might meet, hold roundtables, conferences etc.," the politician explained. He also stressed that if Kiev takes into its head to forcefully finalize the Novorossiya problem, "it will be stopped by "militia man’s bayonet." Sergei Mironov wished peace and prosperity for the people of the DPR and the LPR.
