Alexander Romanovich: Require a new treaty similar to the Helsinki Agreements 26 ноября 2015 On 26th of November the deputy of A JUST RUSSIA faction in the State Duma of the Federal Council of the Russia Federation, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on international affairs Alexander Romanovich received a delegation of young European political scientists from five different countries. The meeting was organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The work of the Foundation is to provide the fundamental values of social-democracy, liberty, fair and solidarity. The foundation works in close connection with the social Democrats and the organizations of free trade unions of Europe. The member of the Parliament discussed with the guests issues of the international agenda. In particular, was discussed relations between Russia and the European Union and the way to restore mutual confidence. Alexander Romanovich stressed, over the past year the nature of the activities of the European Union is far from laid the basis for the organization dreams of a common European house. The member of the Russian Parliament Romanovich recalled that not so long ago it was 40 years anniversary of the signing of the historic Helsinki agreements, established the foundations of postwar Europe. But today we need to be realistic and admit that the Helsinki agreements do not work. According to politician opinion, to restore good neighborly relations between Russia and the European States a new wide-ranging international agreement on the basic issues is required. Speaking about the position of Turkey in the Syrian conflict, Alexander Romanovich stressed that the tension caused by many factors, continues, partly, due to Ankara's policy.
