Alexander Romanovich met with the parliamentarians from Germany 30 марта 2015 Alexander Romanovich, deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Foreign Affairs met with the deputies of the Bundestag and the Bavarian Landtag on 30 March. Boris Guseletov, international affairs advisor to the Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA participated in the meeting. A delegation of the German parliamentarians from the CSU faction visited Moscow upon invitation of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. Alexander Romanovich expressed deep condolences to the guests in connection with the crash in the Alps of the passenger aircraft with German citizens on board. The head of the German delegation Tobias Czech, a deputy of the Committee on Labor and Social Issues of the Bundestag, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, emphasized that return of Russia to the G8 group and lifting of the economic sanctions would meet the interests of Germany. Tobias Czech reminded that in 2008, after the events in South Ossetia, Germany was against admission of Georgia to both NATO and the European Union. Now Germany occupies a similar position regarding a possible entering of Ukraine into these alliances.. However, according to him, the European politics is under a strong pressure of the United States of America. In this situation, the German politicians find it necessary to work at preservation of the balance of forces. "It is necessary to admit that at present the level of mutual trust between Russia and Germany is extremely low," the German parliamentarian said. "We must make every effort to restore this trust". Alexander Romanovich agreed that the level of mutual trust between Russia and Germany is extremely low at present which gives significance to continuation and expansion of a dialogue between the two countries. Regarding the latest events in the Middle East, Alexander Romanovich stressed that tracing a chain of the bloody collisions in this region of the planet, we can’t but notice the role of the American intelligence services in actually each of them. In this situation, Europe and Russia are destined to play a more active political role, and to do it, it is necessary to restore mutual trust (in particular between Russia and Germany) within the shortest time. Discussing the problem of the Ukrainian conflict with the German parliamentarians, Alexander Romanovich noticed that Ukraine still places its stake at a military resolution of the conflict in spite of the enacted peace agreements. In particular, this is confirmed by a third wave of mobilization that was announced. According to Alexander Romanovich, Germany should make a tougher impact on Ukraine. The parliamentarian also thinks that an active participation of the European countries in investigation of human rights violation and military crimes of the Ukrainian authorities as well as an unbiased approach of Europe to the Ukrainian crisis might (in general) help restore trust of the Russian civil society in the European politics. "We’d like to have a more objective reaction of Europe to the Ukrainian conflict. It would be a good sign for people of Russia," deputy chairman of the SD Committee for foreign affairs said. Concerning the PASE demand to free pilot Nadezhda Savchenko that was touched upon during the meeting, Alexander Romanovcih explained that the demand "contradicted common sense". "There are no legal mechanisms which might allow her, the person who is on trial and suspected of committing a crime, to be elected as a deputy of the Verkhovnaya Rada and the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe," he stressed. Alexander Romanovcih also told his German colleagues that the regional Moscow-area division of Party A JUST RUSSIA regularly sends humanitarian aid (mainly meant for kindergartens and schools) to the affected south-eastern regions of Ukraine. The deputy also reminded his colleagues from the Bavarian Landtag of the long-standing relations connecting business of Bavaria and the Dmitrov district of the Moscow region from which he was elected as a State Duma deputy. The Russian deputy offered his help for building up cooperation between the regional and municipal lawmakers of the Moscow adjacent areas and their German colleagues.
