The party activists were holding banners with the slogans: "Russia and Crimea are together now and forever!", "Reunification of Crimea to Russia is the will of the nation!", "Return of Crimea is the triumph of justice" etc. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin in his speech before the meeting participants particularly emphasized that the reunification of Crimea with Russia has become the embodiment of our nation’s unity. "The people of Russia have demonstrated a surprising equanimity and patriotism in support of aspiration of Crimeans and Sevastopoleans for returning to their homeland," he said. "At that moment all of us had a profound feeling in our hearts and souls of how important the links between generations and times are, and how much our heroic ancestors had done for our country!" As the RF President declared, when it is referred to Crimea, it means not only the territory, even though it is a strategically important one. Crimea means millions of our fellow citizens who need help and support. "We have realized that this refers to not just a territory (we have enough of it), here we are talking about the historical basics, the sources of our spirituality and national identity. This is referred to something that makes us a single and solid nation," he stressed. Aside from that, the head of the state stressed that he considered the Russians and the Ukrainians as one nation. He expressed confidence that the Ukrainian people would give their estimation of the activities of those who had brought Ukraine to its current state. Russia (for its part) would do everything to restore the interstate relations. "We will overcome the problems and difficulties someone tries to throw in from outside, in general, it is useless regarding Russia, and we are sure to succeed in it," concluded the President. In his speech before the meeting participants, Chairman of the JR party, the leader of the State Duma party faction Sergei Mironov stressed that "the previous year would forever go down into history as the year of the Russian spring". "Crimea and Russia are together, and now it is forever. Today we say: concessions and losses are over. In 2008 we defended South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Last year we restored historical justice, and Crimea is ours now and forever," Sergei Mironov said. According to the parliamentarian, the era of victories and the epoch of collection of the Russian lands have come. "Return of Crimea and hero-city Sevastopol back to Russia is the event whereby people will assess our time even in one hundred, two hundred and three hundred years," he stressed. "The Crimean spring returned pride for our country, the feeling of involvement in the historical events of our country right here and right now. No matter that they on the other side are threatening us. All the treats will split against the granite of our will, the Russian truth and justice because our people are unconquerable. It has always been so, and it will always be so in future. Spring, Crimea, Russia are together! Happy holiday!" The leaders of the parliamentary factions of CPRF, LDPR, United Russia – Gennady Ziuganov, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Vladimir Vasiliev and the public leaders participated in the concert-meeting. Well-known singers and artists Grigory Leps, Alexander Marshal, Trofim, Larisa Dolina, "Liube" and participants of the Voice project took part in the concert part of the event.
