Sergei Mironov: revision of history by the Ukrainian authorities is an attempt to clear themselves of innocent victims 27 января 2015 January 27 is the Holocaust victims remembrance day. Sergei Mironov, Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA and the leader of the State Duma party faction paid tribute to innocent victims and called for prevention of new crimes of fascism. Today we pay tribute to innocent victims of fascism who died in the concentration camps. The Osvencim-Birkenau camp on the territory of Poland was liberated on this day. For all reasonable people, these dates are another cause to think how mass extermination of nations became possible, and what should be done to avoid such tragedies in the future. But there also people who are ready to use any tragic and holy date in their political interests. The Kiev authorities do not seem to be interested in fascist atrocities. It is more interesting for Yatsenyuk and his European opinion allies to prove that liberation of Osvencim is the work of the Ukrainian (!) army, and World War II is a USSR "assault" on the neighboring states. In my opinion, at present many people underestimate the danger of such words and estimations. "It’s not serious, history has been revised as long as it exists," they say. Yes, it is so, but the current revision offered by the Ukrainian authorities is (first of all) distraction of attention from the actual reasons for emergence of fascism in Europe and its atrocities during World War II. It is absolutely clear why it is done now: real fascism has lifted its head up in Ukraine, and the authorities do their best to rehabilitate it before history, to shift responsibility for its atrocities and murders of the innocent on someone’s shoulders. So, the current revision of history by the Ukrainian authorities is far from being harmless. This is an attempt to deprive people of memory about the victims of fascism which have already appeared in Ukraine. It is an attempt to clear themselves (beforehand) of the murders of people who do not want fascism to appear on the Slavic land.
