Nikolai Levichev: the Polish minister rushed into war of "interpretations of history" 22 января 2015 Nikolai Levichev, Vice-Chairman of the State Duma made comments on the declarations made by the foreign minister of Poland: The foreign minister of Poland declared that it was the Ukrainians who liberated Osvencim (Auschwitz). Mr. Schetina, a philosophical faculty graduate, quite consciously rushed into war of "interpretations of history" as Patriarch Kirill characterized the events going on in the West speaking from the Duma rostrum. According to the logics of the head of the Polish MFA and other our European partners, the Russians did not even take part in the war because there were four Ukrainian and three Belorussian fronts, a Baltic front but no Russian. I myself visited Osvencim thirty years ago, and everything I saw there still remains one of the strongest emotional shocks I’ve ever had in my life. That’s why I am astonished that the leader of such a high standing allows himself to make such statements. This is not just ignorance but a mere slander. Maybe, the minister of foreign affairs should visit Osvencim once again so that to refresh in his memory the circumstances of liberation of this death camp.
