Nickolai Levichev receives representatives of South Korean Mass Media 01 декабря 2014 Nickolai Levichev, Vice-Chairman of the State Duma received the participants of the Forum of Mass Media representatives of Russia and the Republic of Korea in Moscow on December 01. The Forum is held within the framework of "Dialogue Russia – the Republic of Korea", December 1-5. This expert site was created in 2010 upon the initiative of the Presidents of the two countries. Its activity is aimed at strengthening of bilateral relations and mutual understanding of the peoples of Russia and the Republic of Korea. The delegation included representatives of the leading South Korean Mass Media, such as Kim Yun Hi, a reporter of the International Relations and Safety Department of the Joongang Daily News newspaper; Kim Kich Jin, deputy chief editor of the Busanilbo newspaper, Kim Hison, the KBS channel anchorman and others. Opening the meeting, Nickolai Levichev welcomed the delegation on behalf of Sergei Narishkin, Chairman of the State Duma and stressed that in light of the complicated relations between Russia with the EU and other western partners turn of the RF foreign policy course towards the East seems to be a topical issue. At the same time, the parliamentarian stressed that the turn should not be connected only with worsening of the relations with the West. According to Nickolai Levichev, the eastern vector as the priority of development is a strategic step. Speaking about the relations between the RF and the Republic of Korea, Nickolai Levichev declared that visa abolition (coming into power on 01 January of the current year) is a huge step to strengthening of mutual understanding and trust between the two nations. The Korean journalists touched upon a number of topics connected with development of the bilateral relations and the current political situation in the world.
