Mikhail Yemelyanov thinks the US sanctions against Russia result from despair and unwillingness to admit its mistakes 05 мая 2014 After his meeting with Angela Merkel, Barak Obama said the USA was ready to impose new sanctions on Russia. According to Obama, the sanctions of a higher level will concern not only power economy, but also the spheres of defense and finances. The State Duma representatives offered an immediate reaction. In particular, A JUST RUSSIA faction first deputy leader Mikhail Yemelyanov declared the following: "Instead of talking about sanctions, the mistakes must be admitted, and it is necessary to reach a real agreement on settlement of the situation in Ukraine because so far all the agreements have been fake". The parliamentarian thinks that the world is arranged in such a way that the most damage is done to those who imposes the sanctions rather than to those whom they are targeted at. "As for the finances and technologies, we are able to find them not only in the West but in the East as well. That’s why I don’t think those sanctions will do a severe damage to Russia, at least, the losses will be mutual", outlined his position Mikhail Yemelyanov. According to the deputy’s supposition, even if the sanctions are imposed, they won’t last long. Moreover, some EU representatives are against imposing the new sanctions on RF because they will have a negative impact on the economies of the European Union countries. "In my opinion, all these declarations about sanctions are more likely to result from unwillingness to admit the mistakes made by the western countries in Ukraine and their reluctance to correct them", Mikhail Yemelyanov added.
