Yelena Mizulina: aggrandizement of the USA is caused by the collapse of the USSR 21 марта 2014 Yelena Mizulina, A JUST RUSSIA faction, made a five-minute statement on the topical social-economic, political and some other issues at a State Duma plenary meeting on March 21. Dear deputies and Sergei Evgenievich, on March 19, the State Duma adopted a statement on the sanctions imposed by the USA and the EU, the statement which contained a few words "in support of me". I’d like to be honest and say it was quite a surprise for me. I even didn’t realize at once that most part of the statement was devoted to me as I believed before that the State Duma (by its competitive nature) was not able to demonstrate solidarity with a separate deputy. That’ why, dear deputies, I as well as my family deeply appreciate it. Speaking the legal language, the sanctions imposed on the Russian citizens by the USA and the EU are just one of the varieties of extrajudicial repressions unilaterally used by the USA against us. By this, they are destructing the myth about the USA being the Kingdom of Law and Justice. None of the international legal documents acknowledges the role of the USA as the world supreme authority and the world judge. Where is this aggrandizement rooted in? In my opinion, first of all, it is connected with the collapse of the USSR and the desire of the countries that were former participants in the socialist cooperation to study a successful experience of the USA. But unfortunately, maybe because of such a high demand, the USA has believed in its infallibility. The distinction between studying everything useful in the USA experience as well as borrowing it by the other countries (on the one hand) and the things which the USA considered useful for itself and started to impose (on the other) has been eliminated. The USA started to consider itself some sort of a teacher. But it is well-known he whom we learn from is the teacher but not the one who teaches us. Adoption of the presidential laws on the Crimea and Sevastopol yesterday, is our open declaration of protest against the USA dictatorship, its infringement upon our sovereign power, the right of our people to self-determination. Sooner or later, such a protest had to be made. I am completely sure the USA is absolutely aware of it. But, dear colleagues, there is a serious test ahead of us that we have to pass. Of course, we will if we are united together and demonstrate our integrity and will not allow anybody to split elites and the nation. I believe it might be the right thing to do if all of us would set off traveling around the districts and hold meetings with our electorate across the country so that to explain the situation. I find it reasonable if the representatives of various factions would participate in such meetings. I am quite sure that the majority of the Russian citizens support our decision because having voted for the above-mentioned presidential draft laws, we voted for the renovation of our sovereign Russia, its national power and strength that are historically based on the faith and love of the Russian people for their free motherland that has never been subject to its enemies. Yesterday we provided our support to the aspiration of the Russian authorities, of our President to be committed to the Russian people and their national interests. It is our historical chance to revive and unite Russia so that to avoid losing it now and forever. It is not actually important if in a week or two all the deputies will find their names on some list. We must be united, together with our citizens and our President! This is of an utmost importance. And now a few words about the remark made by our LDPR colleague. We share your emotional indignation regarding Ilya Ponomarev’s voting. I’d like to tell you that it is a strong pain for us, for party A JUST RUSSIA because it is our party A JUST RUSSIA that will bear responsibility before our people. At present, a separate deputy is not responsible even before the party; it is his constitutional right. So, dear colleagues, maybe, we will finally introduce the institution of imperative mandate for the deputies elected according to the party lists as it will provide us with an opportunity to strictly keep the promises we gave our electorate. Our parties will not have any other but this opportunity to do it. Thank you.
