Sergei Mironov: "Russia has deserved the hosting of the Olympics!" 07 февраля 2014 Sergei Mironov, Chairman of A JUST RUSSIA, the Leader of the party’s State Duma faction made comments on the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.
The politician remembered the summer of 2007 when it seemed there was plenty of time before the Sochi Olympics, but now it is already "countdown of the last hours." After the Winter Olympic Games start, the entire world will get an opportunity to estimate work of the designers and constructers of the Olympic objects, appreciate arrangement of work performed by the teams of volunteers and maintenance services. "Of course, the main thing will be athletic performance during the Olympics," said Mr. Mironov. He also stressed that participation in the Olympics is a great lifetime achievement for each sportsman.
"There are just a few countries in the world that were lucky to host the Olympics more than once," says Mr. Mironov. "It is obvious that the Olympic Games are unlikely to return to Russia in the future decades. Therefore, holding of the Olympics is an undoubtful achievement of our country.
